In need of sunshine

Good afternoon fellow bloggers from a freezing cold, wet, windy, overcast South Africa, here in our area at least. We had pouring rain yesterday, thunder and lightning, and we hardly ever have rain in our summer rainfall area. It was welcome for the garden, but it has been very cold today, hence my card.
I made this for a PCP group ... a card for summer. Well for me summer is bright sunshine and spending time in the garden. Here is what I did.

Paper... White cardstock, matted DP .. a freebie from a magazine.
Image... Digital image from Isabella's Sketchbook. Coloured with aquarelle pencils. I printed 2 images and cut out the flower pots from the second one, coloured these with Twinkling H2O's and mounted them on 3D tape. I cut the image out with a nestie, coloured the edges,
Made corners and mounted butterflies punched with a Nellie Snellen punch and embossed.
Sentiment... Hero arts.
It certainly made me think of summer and pretty flowers while doing this.
Warm wishes and enjoy your Friday, as it is soon weekend.

Especially like the butterflies & paper you used. We had thunderstorms & rain this past weekend but it was short & we could use more rain now that it is 90-100 temps in Central TX. In my backyard garden I have the following growing: flowers (Chrysanthenums, Dahlias, Gladiolas, Jasmine & Roses), vegs (broccoli, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes) & fruit (cantaloupe, strawberries).

A beautiful card Ursula. Just love it! When you find that sunshine, send some to Cape Town. I'm in bed with my bean bag, that will have to go into the microwave for the umpteenth time... freezing cold! Wrap up warmly and have a super weekend... enjoy the rugby on Saturday. hugs Sharon x
